SOAR NWA

SOAR NWA is a hot air balloon event that is making its appearance in Northwest Arkansas August 24, 2019. This event will have activities for everyone, including a variety of hot air balloon activities, an area for kids to play, a beer garden for persons 21 and up, as well as live music. There will also be helicopter rides, tethered rides, and skydiving! SOAR NWA is a fundraiser to raise money for “Open Avenues” whose mission is opening avenues of opportunity for people with disabilities in Northwest Arkansas by facilitating personal growth and attainment of vocational goals. All hot air balloon activities will be dependent on the weather, and even with perfect weather conditions, balloons can only fly before 10 am and after 6 pm. Generally around 6 people can fit in a balloon depending on the size of each person (each balloon can hold 700 lbs). The tethered rides are handicap accessible with walk-in baskets. Tethered rides will be offered to all attendees for an additional fee at select times during the festival! SOAR NWA is taking place at Drake Field Airport. Parking will be limited and will be located a mile from the airport with shuttle transportation available during certain times. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 years and younger, and infants one and under will be free. Volunteers and sponsors are needed for this event!
